Abstract: A thermosetting powder coating composition having good handling characteristics and capable of being baked under relatively mild conditions and providing a coating having practically satisfactory properties. This coating composition is prepared by incorporating in 100 parts by weight of an epoxy group-containing acrylic or methacrylic copolymer having a glass transition point of 30 DEG to 90 DEG C. and a weight average molecular weight of 2,500 to 30,000, said copolymer consisting of 3 to 35% by weight of acrylate or methacrylate monomer units and 97 to 65% by weight of ethylenically unsaturated monomer units, 3 to 40 parts by weight of a specific diphenol having at its both terminals hydroxybenzoic acid ester structures as represented by the general formula: wherein R3 stands for a hydrocarbon radical having 2 to 20 carbon atoms or a linking group containing, at least at its both terminals, hydrocarbon radicals and in its main chain at least one member selected from the group consisting of an ether linkage, ester linkage, urethane linkage and amide linkage, and having totally 4 to 20 carbon atoms. Especially good results are obtained when a specific phenol compound containing in the molecule one phenolic hydroxyl group and either one carboxyl group or one hydroxyl group, or a specific benzoic acid compound containing in the molecule two carboxylic acid groups are further incorporated in this powder coating composition.

CONSTITUTION:A solution of a polyamide polymer having >=100000, preferably 150000-2000000 number-average molecular weight is cooled and solidified to provide an undrawn substance, which is then drawn to afford the objective wiry substance having >=80g/d initial elastic modulus and >=10% breaking elongation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyamide dope composition containing an ultrahigh molecular weight polyamide, solvent and salt selected from halogenated product or perhalogen oxide of a specific element, having low gelation temperature and suitable for gel spinning. CONSTITUTION:The aimed polyamide dope composition obtained by dissolving (A) a polyamide obtained by producing a prepolymer having 10000-20000 number- average molecular weight and being -15-15mg equivalent/kg in the difference of concentration between terminal NH2 and terminal COOH by a melt polymerization method and subjecting the resultant prepolymer to solid polymerization at the temperature close to the melting point of the polymer under vacuum, etc., and >=100000, preferably 100000-2000000 number-average molecular weight in (B) a solvent (preferably N-methyl-2 pyrrolidone) containing one or more salt selected from halogenated product or perhalogen oxide of elements (preferably Li, Ca, Mg, Zn, Al and B) of groups IA, IB, IIA, IIB, IIIA and VIII and heated to 130-200 deg.C.
