Abstract: Un método para activar un módulo de identidad (101), que comprende - un paso de activación inicial en el que un centro de personalización almacena un código de identidad inicial en el módulo de identidad y conecta el código de identidad inicial con el sistema de gestión de red (103, 104); - un paso de distribución en el que un distribuidor (107), que vende el módulo de identidad a un usuario final, asigna un MSISDN al módulo de identidad (101) y conecta el MSISDN con el sistema de gestión de red (103, 104); - un primer paso de activación en el que el módulo de identidad recibe el MSISDN asignado; - un segundo paso de activación en el que el módulo de identidad contacta con el sistema de gestión de red a través de un dispositivo de comunicación, en donde el sistema de gestión de red recibe el código de identidad inicial junto con el MSISDN del módulo de identidad; - un tercer paso de activación en el que el sistema de gestión de red (103, 104) reconoce el código de identidad inicial, junto con el MSISDN y, como respuesta, asigna un código de identidad eficaz al módulo de identidad y, a continuación, envía un mensaje al dispositivo de comunicación, en donde el mensaje comprende el código de identidad eficaz; y - un cuarto paso de activación en el que el módulo de identidad (101) recibe el mensaje a través del dispositivo de comunicación, extrae el código de identidad eficaz a partir del mensaje y almacena el código de identidad para su uso en el futuro;

A customization center stores an initial identity code in the identity module and communicates the initial identity code to a network management system. A distributor assigns a communication address to the identity module and communicates the communication address together with the initial identity code to the network management system. The identity module contacts the network management system via a communication device, whereby the network management system receives the initial identity code together with the communication address. The network management system recognizes the initial identity code together with the communication address and, in response, assigns an effective identity code to the identity module. Subsequently, the network management system sends a message to the communication device. This message comprises the effective identity code. The identity module receives the message via the communication device, extracts the effective identity code form the message and stores the effective identity code for future use.
