Abstract: A wearable electronic device can include interface features to provide guidance for optimal placement of the wearable electronic device. The wearable electronic device and/or another electronic device can be operated to guide a user to position the wearable electronic device in a manner that will achieve proper alignment of components with respect to the user and maximize user comfort. For example, the wearable electronic device and/or another device can include sensors for detecting features of the user's face, forces distributed on the face when worn, and/or alignment with the face (e.g., eyes). The guidance can include instructions or other interface features to encourage adjustment of the wearable electronic device. While the head wearable electronic device can provide such guidance to the user wearing it, the feedback can also be provided to another person and/or via another device.

Abstract: Methods, systems and devices for generating an authentication key are provided. Two or more communications devices can generate an authentication key by monitoring a physical stimulus that is experienced by both devices (e.g., a common physical stimulus). Each device can then use an identical, predetermined algorithm to generate a common authentication key based on the stimulus. The devices can use the common authentication key to establish a secure network.

Abstract: An accessory device is described. The accessory device may include a base region and sidewalls that combine with the base region to secure an electronic device with the accessory device. The accessory device may include a rigid layer having openings in at least some corners of the rigid layer. In order to facilitate insertion and extraction of the electronic device, an elastic material disposed in the openings may join with two sidewalls at the corners, allowing the sidewalls to move or bend with respect to other sidewalls. The accessory device may include a protective layer embedded in a sidewall to provide support to an opening formed in the sidewall. The sidewall may include a protrusion supported by features embedded in sidewall to facilitate pressing the protruding feature, which corresponds to pressing a button of the electronic device.

Abstract: Cowlings described herein for board-to-board connectors can provide high stiffness, low weight, and low total cost. Such cowlings can provide ribs with increased thickness for targeted stiffness to resist bowing in a given direction. The layers of the cowlings can include carbon fiber extending in directions parallel to the ribs in some layers and transverse to the ribs in other layers. The layers can be formed together within a mold tool that shapes the fibers into the ribs.

Abstract: Systems of the present disclosure can provide head-mountable devices with different input and output capabilities. Abstract: A wearable electronic device can include an optical assembly that supports a display and is moveable within the wearable electronic device. A compliant tracking assembly can be provided to facilitate precision alignment to allow the tracking assembly to operate as an encoder system. For example, the sensor of the tracking assembly can be consistently aligned with a scale so that movement of the optical assembly relative to the chassis can be tracked and controlled accurately and precisely. Such a compliant mechanism can provide protection of the sensor throughout the life of the wearable electronic device.
