Abstract: The present invention relates to fabrics and/or garments/apparel that confer protection to a wearer by resisting break open, and/or by absorbing at least a portion of any incident energy. The fabrics/garments/apparel described herein comprise yarns prepared from blends of polymers and woven in stellar weave. The blend of fibers comprises flame retardant viscose fibers, meta aramid fibers, para aramid fibers, Nylon 66 fibers, and antistatic fibers in a predefined proportion. A process of manufacturing the fabric for wearable light weight protective apparel comprises processes of spinning, weaving, wet processing and garmenting carried out in a predefined manner.
