Abstract: 1,214,183. Pin joints. BAROGENICS Inc. 8 Feb., 1968 [13 June, 1967], No. 6358/68. Heading F2H. A pin type joint for a plurality of structural bodies 16a-16d with aligned bores 20 comprises a pin 26 having a longitudinal axis and a cylindrical outer surface of a diameter materially less than the minimum transverse width of the bores 20, the pin being positioned within said bores and at least two connecting members 30, 32 positioned between said pin and bore each having a decreasing cross-section from one end to the other. Each connecting member is formed from a slotted sleeve or may be formed from a plurality of parts forming a sleeve when in position. In the embodiment described the pin joint is used to connect the ring sections of a pressure container.
