Abstract: Goniochromatic gloss pigment based on multi-layered, disc-shaped, metallic substrates which have ≥ 1 layered packet consisting of (A) a layer consisting essentially of silicon dioxide, hydrous silicon dioxide, aluminium oxide and/or hydrous aluminium oxide and (B) a non-selectively absorbing silicon-contg. layer which is ≥ partially transparent to visible light and opt. also (C) an outer layer which consists essentially of colourless or selectively absorbing metal oxide. Also claimed are gloss pigment mixts. consisting of the gloss pigments above and multi-layered silicate discs, and a process for the prodn. of the gloss pigments.
