Abstract: Racemic-cis-3-dihalovinyl- 2,2-dimethylcyclopropane carboxylic acid alpha-vinyl-3-phenoxybenzyl esters (I) are new (where R1 and R2 are halogen; and R3 is H, halogen or 1-3C alkyl). The esterification can be carried out e.g. by converting the acid to (II) into the halide and reaction of this with the alcohol (III); conversion of the alcohol (III) into a halide and reaction of this with the acid (II); condensn. of the acid (II) with the alcohol (III); or conversion of the acid (II) into an ester and trans-esterification of this with the alcohol (III). (I) are insecticides and acaricides with much higher activity than the corresp. trans isomers. They are suitable for use in plant protection, as well as in the hygiene, stored prods. and veterinary sectors. They are advantageously used in combination with pyrethroid synergists such as piperonyl butoxide.

The present invention relates to new pyridazinonyl-(di) (thio)-phosphoric (phosphonic) acid esters, a process for their manufacture, and pesticides, especially insecticides and acaricides, containing these compounds as active ingredients.
