Abstract: Extruder comprises two introduction zones, one homogenisation zone. Minor portion of constituents, containing additives, enters first zone, is melted, moves to homogeniser. Major portion, without additives, enters second zone, is heated to polymer softening point, and is maintained at pressure above vapour pressure of volatile constituents. These constituents escape upstream to a low pressure evacuation zone. Both flows are combined in homogeniser and extruder.
