Abstract: A laminate comprising a film (i) as layer and a strengthened polyurethane as layer (ii), where there is adhesion between the two layers and the polyurethane is fiber reinforced and is an open cell polyurethane foam. An Independent claim INCLUDED for preparation of the laminate by the steps of: (1) insertion of film (i) into a mold; (2) application of a polyurethane system to the film where the polyurethane system contains: (a) polyisocyanate; (b) compounds reactive to polyisocyanates; (c) reinforcing; (d) catalysts; (e) propellant; and (f) optional additives; and (3) reaction of the polyurethane system to give an open cell foam with thickening of the foam system by a Factor of 5-20.

Abstract: Fiber reinforced polyisocyanate polymer product, is prepared in a two step process with and without a blowing agent on either face of the fabric. Fiber reinforced polyisocyanate polymer product is prepared by reaction of: (A) isocyanates, with (B) isocyanate reactive compounds, optionally in the presence of (C) catalysts, (D) blowing agents, and (E) processing aids and/or additive, on (F) a fibrous surface. The surface of (F) is not thoroughly impregnated in a first step by the starting materials (A) and (B), optionally in the presence of (C), (D) and/or (E) or by the product and in a second step reaction between (A) and (B), optionally in the presence of (C) and/or (E) is carried out on the other surface of (F).
