Abstract: The use of a polymer of (a) 50 to 99.5 % by weight of at least one basic vinyl heterocycle having a pKa of at least 3.8, (b) 0 to 49.5 % by weight of a further copolymerizable monomer, and (c) 0.5 to 10 % by weight of a crosslinker for coating printable materials, especially for precoating paper which is intended for ink-jet printing.
