    Abstract: Polyester polyol is prepared by polycondensation of an alcohol/ester mixture with a carboxylic acid mixture and polyalkylene terephthalate. Polyester polyols (I) based on alcohols and carboxylic acids and/or carboxylic acid derivatives as well as polyalkylene terephthalate are prepared by polycondensation of a raw material mixture containing (A) a mixture of one or more alcohols having at least 2 hydroxyl groups and 10-30 wt.% of a linear and/or cyclic ester compound, (B) a mixture of 10-33 wt.% succinic acid, 39-50 wt.% glutaric acid and 16-45 wt.% adipic acid and (C) polyalkylene terephthalate whereby the wt. ratio of (A):(B):(C) is 35-60:10-25:20-55.
