Abstract: The invention relates to composite elements having a structure comprising the following layers: (i) between 2 and 20 mm of metal, (ii) between 10 and 300 mm of polyisocyanate polyaddition products which can be obtained by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) polymer polyols, as compounds which react with ioscyanates, and (iii) between 2 and 20 mm of metal. The invention is characterised in that the metallic layers (i) and (iii) are fixed in such a way that area (R) is formed between the same for layer (ii), (R) is sealed, with the exception of at least one opening for filling (R) and at least one other opening, and the sealing of (R) is checked by measuring the pressure difference on the opening(s), before filling (R) with the starting components for producing (ii).

Production of composite elements with a layer structure comprising (i) 2-20 mm metal, (ii) 10-300 mm polyisocyanate-polyaddition product obtained by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) polymer-polyols and (iii) 2-20 mm metal, involves fixing layers (i) and (iii) so as to form a space (R) for layer (ii), sealing off this space except for opening(s) for filling and other opening(s), and checking the seal by measuring pressure differences at the openings before filling the space with (a) and (b).
