Abstract: A process for fractionating water-soluble or water-dispersible amino-containing synthetic polymers having a broad molar mass distribution by ultrafiltration, wherein the polymer solution or dispersion to be fractionated is fed continuously into an ultrafiltration circulation with at least one ultrafiltration unit, and retentate having a narrower molar mass distribution and permeate are discharged continuously, in such a way that the ultrafiltration circulation is essentially in a steady state, the polymers obtainable by this process and their use.

Abstract: Procedimiento para el fraccionamiento de polímeros, que contienen grupos amino, sintéticos, solubles o dispersables en agua, mediante ultrafiltración, abarcando el procedimiento las etapas siguientes: a) conducción continua de la solución o dispersión polímera hasta una unidad para la ultrafiltración y mezclado con el retentato reciclado a partir de la etapa d) y, en caso dado, con medio acuoso, esencialmente exento de polímero, b) separación de la mezcla en la unidad para la ultrafiltración en un permeato y en un retentato, c) conducción del permeato fuera del procedimiento, d) descarga de una parte del retentato; reciclado de la otra parte del retentato hasta la etapa a), e) conducción de la parte descargada en la etapa d) del retentato hasta , al menos, otra unidad para la ultrafiltración y tratamiento según un procedimiento con las etapas a) hasta d).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for fractionation of water soluble or dispersible synthetic polymers containing amino groups with a broad molar ma ss distribution by means of ultrafiltration. The polymer solution or dispersion which is to be fractionated is continuously fed into an utltrafiltration circuit comprising at least one ultrafiltration unit and the retentate with a narrower molar mass distribution and the permeate are continuously discharge d in such a way that the ultrafiltration circuit is placed in a substantially stationary state. The invention also relates to polymers which can be obtain ed according to the inventive method and to the use thereof.
