Abstract: In a process for cleaning heat-exchanger surfaces in fluidising apparatuses for the preparation of epsilon -caprolactam by catalytic rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime in the presence of supported catalysts containing boron trioxide in the fluidised bed, the heat-exchanger surfaces are treated with a pulsed fluidised bed of quartz sand, sintered aluminium oxide and/or glass beads.
