Abstract: 1. A process for the preparation of hydrazine-free solutions or dispersions of organic hydrazine derivatives, which solutions or dispersions have a long shelf life, wherein (A) organic compounds which have more than one ester group capable of undergoing hydrazinolysis are reacted with (B) hydrazine and/or hydrazine hydrate at from 50 to 200 degrees C in (C) organic solvents, and the resulting reaction product is reacted with (D) monoketones and/or monoaldehydes having a boiling range (under atmospheric pressure) of from 30 to 250 degrees C.
