Abstract: Pigment printing pastes contain thickeners binders, water and opt. emulsifiers, with the addn. of 0.1-1 wt. % methylolated aminoplast constituents, whose methylol gps. are >=50 mol. % etherified, >=20 mol. % being etherified with 10-30C alcohols and/or phenols. The pastes are used for natural and/or synthetic textiles, esp. cellulose fibres. Use of high viscosity petrol-in-water emulsions as thickeners is completely eliminated, while retaining the soft feed, brilliance of print and resistance of the print to mechanical stresses.
