Abstract: The gap (5) between the ends of the printing plate (3) mounted on a frame cylinder (1) is filled with a curable plastics. The plastics is pressed to conform to the cylinder curvature by a pressure plate (6). The pressure plate is pressed against the plastics by two parallel compression strips (9). Each strip is pressed downwards by a row of bolts (10), supported on a beam (8), which has its ends mounted on supports attached to the ends of the shaft of the forme cylinder.

Abstract: An apparatus for lining a form cylinder for gravure printing with a wrap-around plate. In this way, the wrap-around plate can be rolled onto the form cylinder, so that a full, uniform seating of the wrap-around plate on the cylinder periphery is ensured even when the form cylinder possesses no adjustable clamping device.

Abstract: The mechanism secures printing plates for a press cylinder. It has two clamping bars (2) in a recess (1) in the printing cylinder, engaging under the plate ends. In the engaged position the outside surfaces of the bars curve flush with the cylinder surface. Each bar has a pressure face (3) bearing against a claw (10) formed by the folded plate edge. An elastic hose (7) is inserted between the pressure faces of the bars, which are adjusted by eccentrics. During clamping, the bars pivot on a roller (8) mounted between them.

Abstract: The edges of the print plates (1) are secured into the clamping slit by hooked edges (5) and the gap between the plates is filled by a thermo-plastic strip (7) which is softened and pressed into the slit. The inside of the slit is protected by a flexible sealing strip (21) of similar material. The two sides of the slit are fitted with electric heating strips (9) so that the sealing strips can be softened to release the plates. The thermo-plastic is reusable and the plates are removed without having to chisel out conventional sealing compound.

Abstract: The printing plate (9) of a plate cylinder of a rotary printing press, is clamped to the cylinder by means of two bars (2) of L-shaped cross-section which fit in a slot (1) which extends over the length of the cylinder. The edges of the radially aligned legs of the L-sections are curved so that they fit flush with the surface of the plate cylinder. Each clamping bar (2) is pressed towards the other by means of at least two hydraulic cylinders (8). The overhanging edges (3) of the L sections are pressed against a flexible tube (7) containing a plastically deformable mass.
