Abstract: A 5-300mm thick plastic layer (2) is sandwiched between two metal layers(1,4), 1-20mm thick. Surfaces of the metal layers facing the plastic have raised areas(3,5) with a height of 0.1-15mm to increase grip between the layers. Raised areas(3,5), preferably 0.1-2mm in height, are produced in the metal layers(1,4) and the metal layers are fixed in position. Space between them is then filled with an initially liquid material to produce a plastic layer(2). The space between the metal layers is sealed to contain the fluid plastic before introduction of the latter. Independent claims are included for a process for manufacturing the composite product in which raised areas or projections are produced by filing, rolling, pressing or grinding.
