Abstract:
(A) N-acyl furmaramic acid derivs. of formula (I) are new, where A = OR3 or NR4R5; R3-R5 = 1-6C alkyl, 1-4C haloalkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, 2-6C alkynyl, or aralkyl opt. ring-substd. by 1-3 of alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, haloalkyl halogen, CN or NO2; R1 and R2 = H, or 1-6C alkyl, or R1 + R2 = (CH2)m; m = 2-6; Ar = mono- or bicyclic aryl, opt. substd. by 1-3 of alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl, phenoxy, halophenoxy, benzyloxy, phenyl, haloalkoxy, OH, halogen, or NO2; n = 0-3; provided that: (a) Ar is not phenyl or 4-nitrophenyl when A = NH2; (b) Ar is not pehnyl when A = OEt or NMe2. USE - (I) are fungicides useful for protection of plants and materials (e.g. wood).
