Abstract: PURPOSE: To inactivate a cobalt catalyst, whose catalytically active material is specified, to a base so that its long use in the basic medium is sufficiently guaranteed by calcining the catalyst material at one specified final temperature in a first step and at another specified final temperature in a second step. CONSTITUTION: The catalytically active material of the cobalt catalyst comprises 55-98 wt.% cobalt, 0.2-15 wt.% phosphorus, 0.2-15 wt.% manganese and 0.2-15 wt.% alkali metal, calculated as oxides and is calcined at 550 deg.C-750 deg.C and 800 deg.C-1000 deg.C final temperatures in the first and second steps, respectively to obtain the objective cobalt catalyst having 1.5-500 m /g, preferably 5-300 m /g, more preferably 10-250 m /g surface area.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cobalt catalyst for hydrogenating an org. nitrile and/or imine, wherein the catalyst has high stability to base thus attaining a long life in a basic medium. SOLUTION: A catalytically active compsn. comprises 55-98 wt.% of cobalt, 0.2-1.5 wt.% of phosphorus, 0.2-15 wt.% of manganese and 0.05-5 wt.% of an alkali metal, calculated as oxide. After the catalyst compsn. is calcined, it is reduced at a final temp. of 200-400 deg.C in a stream of hydrogen and subsequently surface-oxidized by treatment in a stream of air at a final temp. of 20-60 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To enhance breaking strength and compression strength by coating the surface of each of prepreg layers with a specific amt. of an elastic polymer film and constituting the polymer film of a meltable or at least sinterable org. polymer B having a specific glass transition point. CONSTITUTION: A fiber composite material has a laminated layer of prepregs each composed of a fiber accumulated layer impregnated with a curable resin A and the respective prepreg layers are bonded by an intermediate layer comprising an elastic polymer film and the polymer film coats 10-90% of the surfaces of the prepreg layers (a) and is present in an amt. of 0.1-20 G per 1 m of the prepreg layers (b) and formed of a meltable or at least sinterable org. polymer B having a glass transition point of the max. 25 deg.C(c).
