Abstract: Use of auxin type herbicides, for combatting weeds and grasses in transgenic crop plants which contain an ACC (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid) synthase antisense gene, an ACC oxidase antisense gene and/or an ACC deaminase gene, is new. Pref. the herbicide is selected from 2,4-D, 2,4-DB, MCPA, mecoprop, dichloroprop, 2,3,5-T, triclopyr, chloramben, dicamba, 2,3,6-TBA, tricamba, clopyralid, picloram, benazolin, fenac, IAA, NAA, orthonil, fluroxypyr or, esp., quinmerac or quinclorac.
