Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject solution improvable mechanical properties of a foam, e.g. wear resistance, tensile strength and appearance of an outer layer skin by including a specific alkanolamine and carbon dioxide in bonded state. SOLUTION: This solution is obtained by reacting at least one kind of alkanolamine with carbon dioxide in at least one organic compound having 60-600 molecular weight and at least one piece of hydroxyl group as a solvent. The resultant compound contains bonded state of carbon dioxide in an amount of at least 0.51 mol. per 1 mol. of alkanolamine and the alkanolamine is expressed by one of the formulae: NH2-X-OH, OH-X-Y-OH and OH-X-NR9-(CR7 R8)n5-Y-OH (X is formula I; n1, n3 and n5 are each 1-4; n2 and n4 are each 0 or 1-6; R1-R9 are each H, a 1-20C aliphatic or the like).
