    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a high quality of an aqueous dispersant contained in a storage tank for a long time and prevent biodegradation and damage of equipment resulting from the biodegradation, by adjusting to keep the delivery opening at almost the water level when charging water by use of such a conduct pipe that the delivery opening follows up the level change near the water face. SOLUTION: A charging pipe 1 of a storage tank 7 is connected to a floating pipe 2 provided with a plurality of rotary joints 3. A float 4 is fitted to the end of the floating pipe 2 and a delivery opening 5 is positioned a little lower than the water level 6. The bottom of the water storage tank 7 is inclined to conduct water to a discharge pipe 8. In this constitution, fresh liquid is charged to the nearby position of the surface on charging it and the liquid held for a long time is taken out from the storage tank 7 through the lower discharge pipe 8 on discharging it. In this way, an additional equipments cost for agitation can be reduced and at the same time, the aqueous dispersant stored in the tank is prevented from excessive aging and the high quality is retained for a long time.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blending method of a polymer dispersion capable of attaining a sufficient mixing degree of a blending material and the polymer dispersion and capable of executing with a relatively low expense for a device. SOLUTION: The polymer dispersion is circulated with a pump 4 arranged at a conduit 3 from a vessel 7 provided with an agitator 6 through a conduit 3 provided with a mixing device 2, and at least one soln. or dispersion of at least one blending material is measured and introduced into the circulating polymer from a storage vessel 5 through a feed pipe 9 before the entering of the circulating polymer dispersion to the mixing device 2. Thus, the generation of coagulated lump is remarkably reduced.

    Abstract: A stuffing box has a screw connector (5) or seat containing a lubricant-filled chamber (8, 9) surrounding a slide. A stuffing box, with a lubricated screw connector or seat for compressing the stuffing, has a lubricant-containing chamber (8, 9) which surrounds a slide and which is formed in the screw connection (5) or seat above the stuffing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) a pipeline system equipped with the above stuffing box; and (ii) a method of maintaining relative motion between a moving slide and a stuffing box by providing a lubricant in an open chamber (8, 9), completely surrounding the slide with a lubricant film in the chamber and applying the lubricant film onto the slide surface during relative motion. Preferred Features: Lubricant is supplied from a lubricant reservoir (18) to the chamber (8, 9) through the screw connector (5) or seat or through a closure (1) of the screw connector or seat. The closure (1) has one or more scraper elements (16) which are O-rings located in a recess along the slide movement direction. The slide is a plug retainer, a plug holding mandrel or a T-ring slide. The lubricant may be a water-insoluble oil (especially of 10-5000 mPa.s viscosity), a water-soluble lubricant, an oil or grease without ethylenically unsaturated groups or an oil containing unsaturated fatty acids such as edible oil.
