Oxidation catalysts are made by co-precipitating Ag and Co from an aqueous solution at above 60‹C., using an alkali metal hydroxide or carbonate in the presence of asbestos fibres. The catalyst may be extruded into pieces of 2 mm. diameter and 10-15 mm. lengths which are dried at 105‹C.
