    Abstract: Flameproofed flexible polyurethane foams are prepared by reacting organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates (a) with a polyetherol mixture (b) and, if required, further compounds (c) having hydrogen atoms reactive toward isocyanates, in the presence of water and/or other blowing agents (d), catalysts (e) stabilizers (f), flameproofing agents (g) and, if required, further assistants and additives (h), by a process in which the polyetherol mixture (b) comprises b1) at least one polyetherol which is at least difunctional and based on propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide and ethylene oxide, the ethylene oxide content being less than 25% by weight, based on the total amount of alkylene oxide used, has an OH number of from 20 to 80 mg KOH/g and contains more than 70% of primary OH groups and b2) at least one polyetherol which is based on propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide and ethylene oxide, has an OH number of more than 30 mg KOH/g and contains less than 70% of primary OH groups, and melamine, if desired as a mixture with further flameproofing agents, is used as flameproofing agent (g). The flameproofed flexible polyurethane foams prepared by this process can be used as upholstery for furniture and vehicle seats.

    Abstract: Hydrophilic flame retardant flexible polyurethane foam is prepared by reaction of a polyetherol mixture comprising at least one 2-8 functional polyetherol, based on propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide and ethylene oxide and at least one polyetherol based on propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide and the flame retardant is melamine, optionally mixed with other flame retardants. Hydrophilic flame retardant flexible polyurethane foam (I) is produced by reaction of (A) an optionally modified organic polyisocyanate with (B) a polyetherol mixture and optionally (C) other compounds having isocyanate reactive hydrogen atoms in the presence of (D) water and/or other propellants, (E) catalysts, (F) stabilizers, (G) flame retardants and optionally (H) other additives and processing aids. The polyetherol mixture (B) comprises (B1) at least one 2-8 functional polyetherol, based on propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide and ethylene oxide, whereby the ethylene oxide content (with respect to total alkylene oxide content) is greater than 40 wt.%, having an OH number of 20-800 mgKOH/g and a prim. OH group content of greater than 50 % whereby (B11) contains at least one difunctional polyetherol (B1.1) having an OH number of 20-100 mg KOH/g and (B2) at least one polyetherol based on propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide having an OH number of greater than 30 mg KOH/g and the flame retardant (G) is melamine, optionally mixed with other flame retardants.

    Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de plásticos celulares elásticos de poliuretano hidrófilos y protegidos contra la llama mediante reacción de poliisocianatos orgánicos y/o modificados orgánicos (a) con una mezcla de poliéteroles (b) y, en caso dado, otros compuestos (c), que muestran átomos de hidrógeno reactivos frente a isocianatos en presencia de agua y/u otros propulsantes (d), catalizadores (e), estabilizantes (f), agentes protectores contra la llama (g) y, en caso dado, otros agentes auxiliares y aditivos (h), caracterizado porque se emplea la mezcla de poliéteroles (b), constituida por b1) al menos un poliéterol con una funcionalidad de dos hasta ocho a base de óxido de propileno y/u óxido de butileno y óxido de etileno, ascendiendo el porcentaje de óxido de etileno, referido a la totalidad de la cantidad empleada de óxido de alquileno, a más de un 40 % en peso, con un índice de OH de 20 hasta 800 mg de KOH/g y un porcentaje de grupos de OH primarios mayor de un 50 %, con la condición de que b1) contiene al menos un poliéterol al menos difuncional b1.1) con un índice de OH de 20 hasta 100 mg de KOH/G, y b2) al menos un poliéterol a base de óxido de propileno y/u óxido de butileno con un índice de OH mayor de 30 mg de KOH/g y como agente protector contra la llama (g) melamina, en caso dado, en mezcla con otros agentes protectores contra la llama.
