Abstract: Herbicides containing azolylmethyloxiranes of the general formula I in which the substituents have the following meanings: R represents hydrogen or halogen, R and R represent in each case optionally substituted C1-C8-alkyl, C3-C8-cycloalkyl, C5-C8-cycloalkenyl, tetrahydropyranyl, norbornyl, phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl or pyridyl, X represents nitrogen or a methine group CH, their agriculturally useful salts, and plant growth regulators containing azolylmethyloxiranes of the formula I in which R does not represent hydrogen.
