Abstract: The purpose is to enable double-skinned walls to be erected, with considerable mass concentration in a single element, simultaneously providing a high degree of heat insulation. The panels, which also provide sound insulation, comprise one or more load bearing layers of a fibre-reinforced plastic, one or more heat-insulating layers of a foamed plastic, and two heavy sound-deadening covering layers of high density, coated on the outside with a thin layer of plastic. The high density layers may be made of lead foil, and the fibre-reinforced plastics may have long glass-fibre reinforcement. Bonding may be effected by a melting adhesive and by adhesion-effecting foil heated above its melting-point with pressure on both sides, and a strip of plastic protruding for sealing.
