Abstract: New triamino-acetonitrile derivs. are of formula (R1R2N)3 C-CN(I) where R1 and R2 are aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic residues and/or NR1R2 is a heterocyclic residue; and/or two residues R1 may be linked so as to form heterocyclic ring. Cpds. are prepd. by reacting (I; CN is OR3 in which R3 is (cyclo)aliphatic gp.) with R4 OCN (R4 is (cyclo)aliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic residue); or by reacting (R3O)3C-CN with HNR1R2. (I) are intermediates for dyes, wetting agents, iminoortheoesters, orthocarboxylic acid esters, guanidinium salts, phase transfer catalysts and pesticides.
