Abstract: A coiling machine for the prodn of magnetic tape cassettes includes the attachment of the end of the tape to the spool core. A production line with intermittent progress uses a working table (1). It has a turntable (2) with guides (3) for the temporary location of work carriers (4) with a reciprocating drive (10). Adjacent to the worktable are clamping devices (5) pivoting back and forth about vertical axes to clamp the leader tapes to the cores (13) held in the holders (4). Clamping wire is fed from a stock spool and cut by reciprocating cutters. A magnetic tape stock spool (11) on a rotating disc (10) feeds tape past diversion rollers (14) and adjusting elements (15) for the tape tention. Drives for the various units are located below the turntable.
