Abstract: The thermal insulation plate material, especially for the insulation of sloping roofs, is of a hard and tough plastics foam. It contains hollow zones, parallel to the roof surface in at least one direction, across the whole plate width. The material is of polystyrene particle foam, an elastic polystyrene foam or an elastic polystyrene particle foam. Also claimed is a process where the plate material is compressed between the roof rafters, and its reassertion forces are contained.
