Abstract: A cassette case (5) has upper (6) and lower (7) covers which are screwed (8) together. Openings (9,10) allow the shafts for the reel hubs (11,12) to enter and engage the drive fingers (13). Over the openings are two identical openings (14a,14b) whose inner ends are curved and with parallel sides to increase progressively the resistance to breaking of the cassette. The openings have transparent covers (16a,16b) and have a common support element. The assembly is fixed into position by welding or gluing. Collets (18) provide support for the reel hubs. The shape of these openings allows inspection of the outer edge of the reels (19,20) in the area (21) where the tape winds on and unwinds from the reel. This allows suppression of any loops which may form near the safety levers (22,23).
