Abstract:
The invention relates to antioxidants, mixtures, preparations, dyes, vesicles, carotinoid formulations, dermocosmetic products, pharmaceuticals, food and fodder, and other solids or liquids or the mixtures thereof, which contain 3,3'-dihydroxyisorenieratene, isorenieratene-3,3'-diquinone, 2,2',4,4'-tetra-tert-butylisorenieratene-3,3'-diquinone, 3,3'-dihydroxy-2,2',4,4'-tetra-tert-butylisorenieratene or related isorenieratene compounds, or have been produced using said compounds, or by means of a method which uses said compounds.
Abstract:
Methine dyes have the polyketone grouping (I), in which the variables have the following meaning: A represents (a) or (b); R1 represents a 5 or 6-membered cycloaliphatic residue with one or two heteroatoms from the group -NR4-, -O- and -S-, that can be annelated with an iso-or heteroaromatic group, whereas R4 represents C¿5?-C7 cycloalkyl or phenyl, that can carry as substituents halogen, C1-C4 alkyl or C1-C4 alkoxy; C1-C20 alkyl, the C chain of which can be interrupted by one to five ether function oxygen atoms and that can carry the following substituents: hydroxyl, phenyl, 1,3-dioxan-2-yl, 1,3 dioxolan-2-yl, -NHR?5¿, -NHCOR5, -CONHR5, -OCONHR?5, -N+(R5)¿3.An-, -SO3H or -SO3-Ka+, where R5 represents one of the unsubstituted or hydroxyl- or phenyl-substituted alkyl residues R4 or phenyl, whereas the residues R5 may be different or the same when they represent -N+(R5)3, and An- is an anion equivalent and Ka+ is cation equivalent; R2, R3 can be different or identical C¿1?-C10 alkyl groups or can form together a residue R?1¿; m, n identical or different integers from 0 to 3. These dyes are useful as medicaments, for generating singlet oxygen, as sensitizers in electrophotographic layers and for photopolymerizations, and as laser light-sensitive dyes in optical recording media; also disclosed are new triketomethine and tetraketomethine dyes.
