Abstract: PURPOSE: To carry out the control of fungi by treating the fungi or plants, seeds, objects or soil threatened by disease injuries thereof with an effective amount of dioncophylline A or dioncophylline B having good fungicidal actions or a mixture thereof. CONSTITUTION: Fungi or plants, seeds, objects or soil threatened by disease injuries thereof is treated with an effective amount of dioncophylline A represented by formula I, dioncophylline B represented by formula II or a mixture thereof as a fungicide to control the fungi. The dioncophylline B of formula II in two dioncophyllines is especially capable of manifesting excellent fungicidal activities. This fungicide is suitable for controlling pathogenic fungi, grown on potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries, clusters of grapes, cucumbers, grains, millets, wheats, peanuts, barleys, etc., and shown in the table.
