Abstract: In a process for renewal of plate-shaped food trays of amorphous or partially crystalline thermoplastics, having a flat central portion and a raised edge, the used trays, in the cleaned and dried state, are subjected to (a) heating to 1-200 deg.C above the glass transition temp. of amorphous thermoplastics or the melting point of partially crystalline thermoplastics; and (b) surface stamping in a press at a pressure of 1-2000 bars.
