Abstract: Thermoplastic moulding material contng. (A) 99-80 wt. % styrene homopolymer or copolymers with up to 50 wt. % mono-olefinic monomers, and (B) 1 - 20% polybutadiene rubber consisting of a mixt. of 10 - 90% polybutadiene with more than 90% 1,4-cis units, and 90 - 10% polybutadiene with 25 - 50% 1,4-cis units and 10% 15% 1,2-vinyl units. They are made by polymerisation of (A) in presence of (B). Use of (B) gives prod. of higher toughness and increased resistance to embrittlement under thermal stresses.
