In synergistically effective amounts, methods for the control of insects or acarids by contacting them or their food supply, habitat, breeding grounds or their locus with mixtures of the compound I with a compound II, a method of protecting plants from attack or infestation by insects or acarids employing mixtures of the compound I with a compound II, and a process for the preparation of a composition for treating, controlling, preventing or protecting a warm-blooded animal or a fish against infestation or infection by insects or acarids which comprises a pesticidally effective amount of a mixture of the compound I with a compound II.
