Abstract:
WHEREIN R1 is H, Cl in the 3- or 4- position to the azo group and R2 is a phthalimide group in the meta-or para position. The yellow pigments are suitable for coloring surface coatings and plastics and for the production of printing inks. The pigments have excellent light fastness properties, weather fastness properties and fastness to over spraying.
Abstract:
Improvement in the process for the manufacture of 3aminobenzoylbenzoic acids by catalytic reduction of the 3-nitro compounds, the improvement consisting in the reduction of the aqueous alkali metal salt solution of the 3-nitro compound in the presence of boric acid, its alkali metal or ammonium salts or mixtures thereof and in the presence of Raney nickel or nobel metal catalysts using hydrogen at atmospheric or slightly elevated pressure. The corresponding 3-aminobenzoylbenzoic acids are obtained in high yield.
Abstract:
A support (2) in which at least one rocker (3) is swivellably mounted is mounted on a base plate (1) to be held in a centrifuge. The said rocker (3) is provided with receptacles (4) for laboratory glass devices (5) and is supported on the leg of the rocker by a helical spring (7), which leg, as a result of displacement of the centre of gravity, is the heavier leg (3b) so that the lighter leg (3a) is located in the lower limit position. Electrical contacts (9) for a switching device of the centrifuge motor are associated with the two ends of the rocker. At a sufficiently high speed of revolution of the centrifuge, the heavier leg (3) overcomes the spring force as a result of the centrifugal force and moves into the contact position which switches off the motor. As a result of the subsequent dropping off of the centrifugal force, the spring presses the rocker back into the opposite contact position which switches on the motor again.
Abstract:
Magnetic stirrer body, comprising a flat cylindrical magnet (1) which is encased by PTFE, with the formation of at least one cavity (3), and the PTFE casing ends (2) of which are bevelled at an angle of inclination of approximately 90 DEG .
Abstract:
Use is claimed of open- or closed-cell polystyrene foam blocks or small particles for removal of vapour-forming organic materials (pref. solvents) of medium polarity from solids, liqs. or gases. Also claimed are gas-permeable, solvent-inert containers (pref. of paper) contg. polystyrene foam for the above use. USE/ADVANTAGE - The polystyrene foam is pref. used as an absorbent for acetone, CHCl3, Et- or Bu-acetate, dioxan, t.Bu Me ether, CH2Cl2, toluene or benzene (claimed). The absorption can take place rapidly at low temps. and normal pressure, the foam having a high capacity and being destroyable by burning after use. (4pp Dwg.No.0/0)
