Abstract: Method for the utilisation of plastic wastes, which arise in the production, further processing or after use of the plastic, in that the plastic wastes, in a sewage treatment plant, are a) comminuted, then mixed with a sewage sludge to which organic flocculants are added and to which, if required, further amounts of finely divided charcoals and/or ashes are added, b) the plastic, if required, is modified in its surface properties by binders in such a way that it is better bound into the sludge, c) this pretreated sludge mixture is subjected to filtration, in which case the plastic can assume the properties of a filter aid, i.e. the reduction of the filter residue, d) the filter cakes obtained are burnt, in which case the plastic assumes the function of an additional energy source and e) the ash is deposited, for example, in a sanitary landfill or supplied for utilisation or a) comminuted if required b) and then mixed inside or outside a combustion furnace with a mixture, which has previously been subjected to filtration, of sewage sludge, organic flocculant and, if required, further amounts of finely divided charcoals and/or ashes, c) filtered again if required, d) the resulting mixture is burnt and e) the ash is deposited, for example, in a sanitary landfill or supplied for utilisation.

Abstract: Verfahren zur Filtration und Entwässerung von Klärschlämmen (1) in einer Membranfilterpresse (9), bei dem Klärschlamm (1), gegebenenfalls mit Zuschlagstoffen (2), wie Kohle oder Asche, unter Zugabe eines Flockungshilfsmittels, zB einem organischen Polymer, in einem Kontaktwerk (3) vermischt und geflockt und über eine Pumpe (4) der Membranfilterpresse (9) zugeführt wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der, gegebenenfalls mit Zuschlagstoffen (2), versetzte Klärschlamm (1) über eine Leitung (5) einem Zylinderrührer (7) mit rotierenden, im Durchmesser über die Zylinderlänge veränderten Zylinderdurchmessern, vorzugsweise mit abgestuften Zylindern (7a, 7b, 7c), zugeführt wird, das Flockungshilfsmittel über eine Leitung (6) in den Zylinderrührer (7) eingeführt wird, daß unter angepaßten Schergefällen bzw. Energieeinträgen zunächst der gegebenenfalls mit Zuschlagstoffen (2) versetzte Klärschlamm (1) und das Flockungshilfsmittel im ersten Bereich (7a) intensiv durchmischt, dann im Zylinder mit einem geringeren Durchmesser (7b) gezielt die Flocke aufgebaut und die Flocke abschließend, im Bereich des letzten Zylinders (7c), mechanisch stabilisiert, und der so geflockte Klärschlamm (1) über eine Ableitung (8) der Membranfilterpresse (9) zugeführt wird.

Abstract: Filtration and dewatering process is as follows. Sludge (1) is opt. mixed with additives such as coal or ash (2) in a contact device (3). The sludge and additives (1,2) are sent by a pump (4) along a line (5) to a cylindrical stirrer (7) with a rotating cylinders (7a,7b,7c) along the length of the cylinder, where the cylinders have changing dia. (pref. with the dia. changing in steps). A flocculating agent such as an organic polymer is supplied at an inlet (6). Rotational energy input sets up shear force gradients, promoting intensive mixing in the first section (7a), flock formation in the second (7b), and mechanical stabilisation of the flocks, in the third (7c). The flocculated mixt. is sent by a line (8) to the filter press (9). Also claimed is a cylinder stirrer as described above for stirring, mixing, agglomerating or flocculating two or more components, such as sludge.
