Abstract: The plastics vessel has a square or polygonal body with internal reinforcing ribs (10), and joining portions extending inwards towards the centre (9) to a circular top and bottom. The top and bottom can have solid peripheral strengthening beads. The ribs can run along the edges (8) of the body, and there can be further ribs on the body faces (7) concentric to the body and extending inwards, while in the top are two tapped bungholes. Alternatively the top can have a round opening with means for securing a sealing lid. The opening can be off-centre. The design gives maximum compactness during transport, together with resistance to distortion.

Abstract: The appts. is for the compaction of aerated powders in a container impermeable to air and uses light packaging (e.g. thin-walled polyethylene containers or corrugated paper cartons with glued-in polyethylene sacks) without a cover and avoiding the use of compressed air to compact the aerated powder. In order to achieve this is centrifuge is employed with a vertical hub and radially extending horizontal arms on whose ends the packages are located. The hub shaft of the centrifuge is powered by a motor and has a brake. The centrifuge arms have a hinge in them so that the arm ends hang downwards when the machine is at rest.

Abstract: The water vapour and drip-tight container consists of a rectangular-section tubular body (1) covered at top and bottom by lids (3) with upstanding flanges around their periphery. The body consists of corrugated paper with a composite layer of aluminium sandwiched between paper layers. The lids are secured to the body by adhesive tape (2). The flanged sides of the lids may have an S-section profile with a major portion parallel to the body walls. The lids may be plastics-laminated aluminium. The rim areas of the body may be compressed to facilitate insertion in the lid flange sections.

Abstract: The process fills and compresses bulky, aerated and finely-divided powdery material such as dyestuffs or plant protection chemical into airtight containers of sheet metal or plastic by means of a compressed-air jet, while simultaneously shaking the container. The impact pressure of the incoming current of air and powder particles is reflected back and forth between the sealing cap and the surface of the material already delivered, thus causing a rise in pressure in the container and compressing the material. The surface of the material is levelled by the shaking.
