Abstract: The fire prevention and cooling system for cables and trunks in workshops etc. consists of a channel shaped to follow the path of the cables and to collect cooling water sprayed from nozzles above the cable. The cooling water is directed onto the cables and is collected by the channel which lies beneath the cable. The channel is in the form of ducting with dam walls across it at places, where it drops down to another level. The dam walls have holes at the bottom to allow water to flow from a higher to a lower level. The side walls of the ducting have overflow holes towards their top edges. The system can be adapted to vertical cables and to stacked horizontal cables.
