Abstract: Aqs. printing paste for the transfer printing of cellulose contg. material, e.g. cotton, rayon, contains, calc. on the printing paste, (a) 1-30%, pref. 5-15%, of reactive or vat dyes, (b) 1-50%, pref. 10-30%, of a water-sol. polyethylene oxide of pref. m. wt. 3000-6000 and having structure, and opt. (c) an emulsion thickener, pref. composed of heavy gasoline (b.pt. 140-200 degrees C), water, on emulsifier of the oil-in-water type and opt. a thickener swelling in water. Sharp outlines are obtd. with no sublimation of the dyestuff, and a wide range of dyes may be used. The pastes contain little or no solvent and may be applied conventionally onto the dyestuff carrier strips in the usual way.
