Abstract: A process for the emulsion polymerization of olefinically saturated monomers comprises heating the reaction mixture by the addition of heated water or steam. A process to reduce the wall coating and coagulate formation during the radically initiated polymerization of olefinically unsaturated monomers in aqueous emulsions at a polymerization temperature of 35-120 deg C comprises heating the reaction mixture to at least the polymerization temperature by the addition of heated water and/or steam.
