Abstract: Ortho-substituted phenylacetic acid amides of general formula (I), where (R1 = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, phenylalkynyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylalkenyl or phenoxyalkyl, 5-/6-membered heterocycle having 1 - 3 hetero atoms to which there may be fused a benzene ring or a 5-/6-membered heterocycle; R2 and R3 = H, CN, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy; R4 and R5 = H, alkyl and R4 or R5 - alkoxy; Y = O, S, SO, SO2, N=N, O-CO, CO-O, CO-O-CH2, alkylene or haloalkylene chain, alkenylene chain, alkynylene chain, oxyalkylene chain, thioalkylene chain, alkyleneoxy chain, carbonylalkylene or alkylenecarbonyl chain, W = alkoximino group, alkoxymethylene group, alkylthiomethylene group), with the exception of compounds in which R1 is hydrogen, phenyl or 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2',2'- -dichlorovinyl)-cyclopropyl, R2 to R5 are hydrogen, Y is carbonyloxymethylene and W is methoxymethylene or methylthiomethylene. The compounds (I) are suitable as fungicides and for controlling pests.
