Abstract: Polymers of N-vinylpyrrolidone, opt. with no >20 wt % of a comonomer, and with a K value of 50-100 (60-90) in 1% aq. soln. at 25 degrees C are used as size for polyester, viscose, and cellulose acetate and triacetate yarn. The dressing bonds firmly, and confers on the coated material good stiffness, with good elasticity and flexibility. The properties of the coating film are not dependent on atmos. moisture. The film can be easily washed off.
