Abstract: A thermoplastic addition polymer contains as antistatic additive a compound wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are hydrocarbon radicals and X is -O- or >NH. Specified polymers are polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene and styrene polymers (optionally containing elastomer). In examples, the additives used are N-lauroyl-N1-dimethyltrimethylene diamine, (Beta-diethylaminoethyl) stearate, N - lauroyl - N1 - diethyl - alpha -methyltetramethylene diamine, the reaction product of montanic acid and N,N-dimethylaminopropylamine, N - oleoyl - N1 - dimethyltrimethylene diamine, dibutylamino - isopropyl oenanthate and N-lauroyl-N1-dimethylamino-trimethylene diamine.
