Abstract: A method for reacting a solution containing a mixture of at least two chemicals in chemical equilibrium with other chemical(s) involves: (a) separating the solution into at least two fractions, enriched in the various compounds relative to the equilibrium concentrations; and (b) reacting one fraction with the other reactant(s) before equilibrium is completely restored. Excluded is the reaction of a formaldehyde solution, containing polyoxymethylene glycols and optionally monomeric formaldehyde and/or methylene glycol, with aniline in presence of an acid catalyst.
