Abstract: Powder dye compsns. contg. (a) one or more basic or metal complex dyes, and (b) 0.5-20 wt. % w.r.t. (a) of (A) one or more alkanol amines of formula HO-A-NR1R2 (in which -A-OH is beta-hydroxyethyl, beta-hydroxypropyl or gamma-hydroxypropyl; R1 and R2 are H, -A-OH, beta-aminoethyl, 1-4C alkyl or together form a morpholine, piperazine, N-methyl- or N-ethyl-piperazine or hexamethylene imine gp.; R1 may also be phenyl) of (B) a mixt. of (A) with high-boiling organic liquids which do not dissolve the dye, are useful in the prepn. of paints, inks, ball-point pastes, hectograph matls., etc. Dusting of the dyes is prevented, without causing corrosion of metal parts, esp. of iron.
