    Abstract: To mix a gas with a liquid, in particular with a reaction component for the production of foams based on polyurethane, an eddying motion is generated in the liquid by the rotary motion of a central stirring tool (2) guided into the vessel (1) from the top and gas situated on the surface of the liquid is introduced into the liquid. The liquid-gas mixture is exposed to local pressure variations by means of a dispersion element (3) which is eccentrically arranged in relation to the vessel axis and rotates at a frequency of 1000 to 7000 min to the power -1. In this manner, a particularly homogeneous liquid-gas mixture can be produced with high gas contents.

    Abstract: For measuring the gas concentration of a liquid plastic component for the production of polyurethane foam materials, a sample is extracted from the main quantity of the plastic component and led into a piston-cylinder unit (4). The sample pressure is subsequently measured and the volume of the probe is changed from a first volume to a larger second volume. For this purpose, the piston (8) of the piston-cylinder unit is moved hydraulically from a first position into a second position. During and/or after the expansion of the sample, it is exposed to a shear field of 0.5 to 1000 sec with the aid of a stirring element (12) projecting into the cylinder (5). By means of the shearing of the sample, the desorption of the gas dissolved in the component is started or accelerated, so that the subsequent pressure measurement also takes into account the proportion of gas dissolved in the component. From the difference value of the pressure measurement, the actual gas concentration of the component may be determined.

    Abstract: For the production of a foam-forming reactive mixture, at least one of the components disposed in separate supply tanks (1) with a stirrer (6) is charged with gas before mixing with the other component takes place. To this end the component is circulated in a separate circuit by means of a conveying unit (10), the gas is supplied in the suction region and/or compression region of the conveyor unit and the gas-component mixture is compressed. Directly following the compression zone (12) the gas-component mixture is depressurised again by means of a throttle element (11), by which means high proportions of gas can be homogeneously distributed in the liquid component.

    Abstract: The post-mixer for split casting moulds (1, 2) for the processing by shaping of multi-component plastics has a channel system disposed in the parting plane and exhibiting mould throttle points. The channel system consists essentially of a main feed channel (4), which after a first throttle point (5) is branched into at least two side channels (6) and (7). For a smooth entry of the plastics component composition into the mould cavity of the casting mould as well as for a uniformly good mixing intensity throughout the entire injection cycle, the side channels have several throttle points (9, 10, 11) and (12, 13, 14), a change of direction of the side channels taking place between each two throttle points. The side channels open into a further chamber (19) connecting with a feed channel (20) leading to the mould cavity (21).
