Abstract: A new binder for inorganic powders comprises a mixture containing (wt.%): a polyoxymethylene homo- or copolymerisate B1 (80-99.5) and a polymer system B2 (0.5-20) immiscible with B1 from polytetrahydrofuran B21 (5-100) and a polymer B22 (0-99.5) from 2-8C olefins, vinylaromatic monomers, vinyl esters of aliphatic 1-8C carboxylic acids, vinyl 1-8C alkylethers or 1-12C alkyl(meth)acrylates. INDEPENDENTR CLAIMS are included for: (1) Thermoplastic masses for the preparation of inorganic molded bodies containing (vol.%): (a) at least one sinterable inorganic powder A (40-85), (b) at least one binder B (15-60), and (c) at least one dispersion adjuvant C (0-5), where the sum of A, B, and C = 100 vol.%; (2) preparation of thermoplastic masses by melting of component B and mixing in of component A and optionally component C; (3) preparation of molded bodies from powder A by (1) injection molding , extrusion, or pressing of a green body (sic), (2) removal of the binder by treatment of the green body (sic) at 20-180 deg C for 24 hours in a gaseous acid containing atmosphere, (3) subsequent heating for 0.1-122 hours at 250-500 deg C, and (4) sintering of the binder-free green body (sic) obtained.
