    Abstract: For the purpose of monitoring the formation and propagation of cracks in machine parts and components, especially in the rotating shafts of prime movers and mechanical equipment, at least one hole is drilled in the uncracked section of the component, this drilled hole intersecting the plane of the crack which is to be expected and being filled with a gas or a liquid, the gas or liquid being adjusted to a pressure above the ambient pressure, and the drilled hole being provided with a closure with respect to the environment and being connected, via a line, to an instrument for indicating a fall in the pressure of the medium present in the drilled hole.

[Also in Division C2] As fungicides, use is made of fluorinated sulphenamides of the formula R 1 R 2 N-SO 2 -N(R 3 ) SOCl 2 F, in which R 1 denotes an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl or naphthyl radical and R 2 and R 3 denote alkyl radicals of 1-4 carbon atoms (see Division C2). One of the compounds described has the formula The compounds may be formulated as suspensions, solutions, emulsifiable concentrates, granulates or dusts with the aid of extenders, solvents or emulsifiers, and may be used together with other plant protection agents. Examples of the use of specific compounds are given.
